Bromsgrove International School Year 8 Chanthaburi Trip (21 - 24 January 2014)
It has been reported that Bromsgrove International School recently collaborated with Traidhos Three-Generation Barge program to create a winning combination, generating such an exciting trip, with all those involved returning home with big smiles on their faces.
The trip started early on Tuesday morning, with the long drive to Chanthaburi being broken up by a stop off at Khao Chamao National park for a spot of lunch and a walk up into the rainforest to a waterfall. Here the barge staff and some brave students faced the cold water and enjoyed a swim in a refreshing pool and admired the beauty of the National Park, before carrying on their journey to the beaches of Chanthaburi.
The next three days were spent exploring the local fishing village, kayaking through the striking mangroves and learning all about the rehabilitation of sea turtles in Thailand. Long sunny afternoons were spent on the beach playing team-building games and learning about the environmental problems facing marine ecosystems on the beach. Meanwhile in the evenings the students faced murder mysteries as werewolves took over killing off members of the groups, and spent time huddled round a campfire, roasting marshmallows.
In summary a wonderful time was had by all and it is reported, from a reliable source, that the barge staff cannot wait to have another trip with Bromsgrove sometime in the near future.
