Each year we welcome over 2,500 students and staff from schools worldwide.
27 - 30 January 2015
At the end of January, we welcomed International School Phnom Penh Grade Five aboard the barge. Right from the airport pick up, the students were bursting with energy and songs, singing renditions of ‘Oliver!’ and gathering excitement for their next few days in Thailand. Needless to say their excitement and friendliness never dwindled and the barge was full of energy!
Of the great variation of activities the students took part in (from fresh market shopping for breakfast, to exploring Ayutthaya, to campfire) students especially loved bird watching, with the pied kingfisher being a group favourite. We were also lucky enough to visit a local brick maker on the banks of the Chao Phraya and we were impressed to see students so interested in this traditional practice, asking many questions about living as a brick maker. Grade Five even had a go at making their own bricks, some we almost mistook for the brick makers own!
We can’t wait to see International School Phnom Penh back on the barge again next year and in the meantime look forward to seeing a video clip of their stage performance!
