Each year we welcome over 2,500 students and staff from schools worldwide.

It was exciting to work with young adults from the senior section of Australia and new Zealand's Girl Guide Associations this Summer, a trip where Barge Program collaborated with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts of Thailand.
Many of the objectives in the Senior Program were common with Barge Program objectives allowing the Barge Program to facilitate a fun and meaningful program. This included:
The young women began with a few days getting to know the Chao Phraya River and its role in Thai history and culture, and offering some activity sessions in local Thai schools, before travelling to Chiang Mai where they participated in a weaving workshop with Karen villagers, and then on to Chiang Rai to support the retiling and re painting of the Girl Guides's Wiang Pa Pao sub-station. After this it was off to the South to explore the mangrove forests by canoe and to join with a Women's Cooperative to learn about batik and coconut shell products.
The group left Thailand with many new experiences and a little taste of some of the global issues experienced by the people they had met.
