Harrow International School

November 2-5 2020

In School River Program

Year 5 students at Harrow International School learnt all about the Chao Phraya River and the importance of water during a school visit from the Barge team. We brought the excitement of the river to the classroom through a virtual tour allowing students to observe how the river is used and life on the river banks. Other interactive activities included creating the watershed and learning key river features, investigating water hyacinth and the macroinvertebrates who live within the floating plant, building a web of the river ecosystem and designing our own plot of land to explore our impacts on the river. The day ended with the Giving River story allowing students to reflect on our relationship with rivers and they shared some powerful and moving letters.
